I come here and let my son play in the river I've done a little fly fishing below the spillway. And this is generally where I put in to float the river with my kayak it's a wonderful little place. And my son loves to come visit here to go swimming and play in the water.
A nice little swimming hole for people of all ages. Also a good place to launch from with several spots along the shore.
Nice place to just hang out and enjoy the sound of water rushing by. Good wade fishing and it's usually clean and safe (city police patrol regularly).
Pepper Branch Park is a beautiful place. The dam is beautiful. Picnic tables Are easy to access. This is a great place to put in to go kayaking on the barren Fork River. This is also an access point for the barren Fork Greenway.
